We all could use some workout motivation tips when starting our training journey, so I’m giving to you what I wish I had years ago. Starting a new workout routine can be tough. You may not see results immediately, and you might get discouraged. But don’t give up! Here are some tips to help you stay motivated throughout your journey.

“Success is not a given, it’s earned. It’s result of determination, commitment and hard work.” — Andrew Tate

Start by setting small, achievable goals for yourself — don’t try to do too much at once

Starting small and setting small goals is the key to success in bodybuilding and weightlifting. This helps you to gain small successes that will give you the motivation and confidence to keep going, as well as minimize the risk of injury or soreness.

Aiming too high can be disheartening, so focus on small aims such as adding a few reps or an extra set each session — once these are accomplished you can gradually build up until you reach your long-term goals! Don’t forget, with small successes come big rewards.

“If you have a clear vision of your goals, you will significantly increase your chances of achieving them.” — Brian Tracy

Find a workout partner or group to help keep you motivated and accountable

Working out on your own can be a tough and lonely journey, so why not learn from your peers and find a workout partner or group to join? Having someone to learn from is invaluable and it also helps keep you motivated and accountable in your fitness journey.

Not to mention, it’s beneficial to have a spotter when lifting weights or performing certain exercises. Joining a group of like-minded individuals who can help you stay focused, will give you the support that you need now more than ever, as well as push you past any self-imposed limitations. It’s amazing how this small change can give you the confidence and motivation needed for success.

Set regular times for working out, and stick to them as much as possible

If you’re just starting out in your workout journey, then setting a workout schedule and sticking to it can be the most difficult challenge. It is important to set regular times for working out, and then strive to stick with them as much as possible. Make sure that your workout routine fits into your life as something that works for you personally.

Find any workout times that fit in naturally with your daily schedule — whether it’s an early morning workout before work or a late night session after dinner — and commit yourself to make it part of your regular routine over time. Workout motivation starts with committing to consistency — so don’t let yourself fall off track — this way you’ll stay motivated and be well on your way to achieving the bodybuilding goals you’ve set for yourself!

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” — Aristotle

Make sure you’re enjoying your workouts — if they feel like a chore, you won’t stick with them

When it comes to bodybuilding and working out, it’s important to keep your motivation levels high. Make sure you keep your workouts interesting! Even if you’re a newbie lifter, don’t hesitate to try out new exercises and techniques — this will help keep the routine fresh and exciting. If your workouts feel like a chore, you won’t be as likely to stick to them in the long run.

To make sure that doesn’t happen, keep yourself motivated by trying something new and engaging every time you hit the gym. Enjoyment is key for success in bodybuilding and workout motivation — keep that in mind when you’re hitting the weights!

Reward yourself for reaching your goals, both short-term and long-term

Rewarding yourself for achieving your fitness goals is a vital part of staying motivated. So when you reach a milestone, whether it’s small scale or bigger, give yourself a pat on the back! Eating out and having some dessert are great options to celebrate.

If you’re over 21, perhaps allowing yourself a beer or glass of wine is also something that can help mark the occasion. Whatever you choose as your reward, always remember how far you have come and how much effort and time you’ve put in — you deserve to treat yourself!

Conclusion

Starting your lifter journey doesn’t have to be intimidating. With careful goal-setting, a reliable support system, and a little self-care, you’ll have the tools to stay motivated and reach the results you’re working towards. This can take adjustments over time as well — don’t be afraid to rework your approach if it isn’t producing the desired effects.

Remember, pushing yourself too hard too quickly can lead to burnout, so be sure that your motivators are sustainable in order to work towards long-term success. You deserve to feel proud of and rewarded for every milestone that you reach on your journey as a newbie lifter! Now go out there and start strong — we wish you all the best with your progress!
